Ladies and Gentlemen:
Below you will find information regarding the requirements, and guidelines as they pertain to this class
Class Description:
21st Century Business is the study of how we interact with business domestically and globally. It will give you general background knowledge in areas that allow you to have a better understanding of how business and the economy interact.
Covered Content: Economic concepts, Business ownership and operations, role of government in our economy, and marketing and advertising
Tardy Policy:
All students are expected to be in class when the bell rings. If you are in the office or with another teacher please bring an admit with you. Tardies will be followed up on as described in your handbook. (Pg.17)
Attendance:
Attendance will be taken daily and excused and unexcused absences will be noted. Only excused absences will be allowed to makeup assignments. You will be allowed to make up only one unexcused test on a Saturday morning.
Assignments:
All assignments are given a due date and are expected to be completed on time. Homework assignments are due at the beginning of class. In the event you fail to turn in an assignment, a zero will be given as a grade. I accept an assignment one day after the due date for a reduced grade unless prior arrangements have been made. (Note: In the case of a excused absence a separate due date will be given)
Classroom Discipline:
While in class you are expected to conduct yourself properly. Please respect those around you and their belongings. Problems will be handled on an individual basis. No food or drinks are allowed in the room.
Turn off cell phones. You get one mistake, after that the phone becomes property of the MCHS Administration. Texting in class has no second chance. Your phone automatically will be turned in.
Do not congregate around the door prior to class dismissal.
Class Work:
A binder is required for this class and you are expected to use it. It should be separated by testing chapters, with all assignments, handouts, worksheets, and outlines part of each section. Your binder may be subject to quick checks. At any time I reserve the right to collect and assign points to chapter outlines as well as other chapter work.
Grades:
Tests/Quizzes 45%
Assignments 55%
Final Exam 15%
