Keyboarding 1
9 1/2 Week Course (One Term)
Description
Students will know the correct hand, and finger positions, for alphabetic keyboarding. Students will demonstrate proper positioning and posture at the keyboard.
Areas Covered:
1. Proper hand, arm, and finger placement on keyboard
2. Proper seating position at keyboard
3. Key reach techniques
4. Use and spacing of all punctuation marks
Students will know upper row numeric, symbol keys and reaches and keypad.
Areas Covered:
1. Proper reach technique for all upper row reaches
2. Proper use of all upper row symbols
3. Proper spacing of all upper row symbols
4. Proper hand and finger position on a keypad
Students will understand proofreader marks.
Areas Covered:
1. Explain why proofreader marks are used
2. Apply marks to correct copy
Students will know how to properly format MLA Style reports
Areas Covered:
1. Explain the proper spacing and formatting of a MLA Style document
2. Create a separate works cited page
Students will be required to take a Final Exam at the end of nine-weeks over all material covered
